Kenyan entertainer and businessman KRG The Don has sent a strong message to politicians who allegedly use young people as goons during political activities, warning that the consequences could be devastating for families and the country.
Speaking about the growing culture of young people being mobilised for political confrontations, KRG urged the youth to think beyond the immediate benefits they may receive from politicians.
“Goons culture is very good until we face a permanent problem as a country,” KRG said, cautioning young people against being used as tools in political battles.

According to KRG, some young people may believe they are defending friends or political allies, only to discover later that those same individuals will abandon them once their usefulness ends.
He urged the youth to think about the long-term consequences of getting involved in political violence.
“Vijana tufikirie leo. Mnadhani ni marafiki zenu, kesho wanawaruka after kuwatumia,” he said.
His comments highlight the unequal consequences that can arise when young people are placed on the frontline of political conflicts.
‘Parents Will Lose Their Children’
KRG further warned that families could ultimately bear the biggest burden if the trend continues, arguing that parents may lose their children over political battles that do not directly benefit them.
He also pointed to the difference in circumstances between politicians and the young people they allegedly mobilise.
According to KRG, if a politician gets injured, they may have access to quality medical treatment in Nairobi or even abroad, while an ordinary young person involved in the confrontation could be left to face the consequences alone.

KRG’s remarks come as a reminder for young Kenyans to carefully consider who benefits from political confrontations and who bears the consequences.
