President William Ruto’s son Nick Ruto has attracted fresh attention after appearing in new photos shared by First Lady Rachel Ruto.
Rachel posted the images on Tuesday evening, August 18, 2026, during a visit to Uasin Gishu County. Nick appeared alongside his mother, dressed in a sharp, well-fitted suit and sporting a neatly trimmed beard.
His rare public appearance quickly became a talking point among Kenyans, many of whom have become accustomed to seeing little of the President’s son in public.

The photos showed Nick accompanying Rachel during her activities in Uasin Gishu.
His formal appearance stood out, particularly because of his recent change in facial hair.
The trimmed beard was noticeably different from the fuller beard he had when he appeared at his sister Charlene Ruto’s traditional Koito ceremony earlier this month.

That appearance had already attracted attention because Nick had rarely been seen publicly in recent months.
Nick’s latest appearance has once again placed the President’s relatively private son in the public spotlight.
From Full Beard to Trimmed Look
Nick’s appearance at Charlene’s Koito ceremony had generated considerable discussion online, with many social-media users commenting on his fully grown beard.
The latest photos presented a noticeably different look.
He appeared cleanly groomed and dressed in a dark suit as he stood beside Rachel during the Uasin Gishu visit.

Charlene’s Koito Ceremony
Nick’s latest public appearance comes less than two weeks after Charlene’s traditional Koito ceremony.
The ceremony was held at the Ruto family’s Intonna Heritage Farm in Kilgoris on August 8. It brought together members of the Ruto family, relatives and prominent guests from across Kenya.
Charlene’s ceremony also provided one of the few recent occasions when several members of the First Family appeared together publicly.
Nick was among the family members present for the celebration.
