Jubilee party aspirants’ meeting in Limuru, Kiambu County/HANDOUTJubilee Party presidential hopeful Fred Matiang’i has hosted a meeting with political aspirants from the Mt Kenya region as the party steps up its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Matiang’i shared photographs from the meeting held in Limuru, Kiambu County, showing him engaging with aspirants and party officials as Jubilee seeks to strengthen its presence in the region.
“A moment from today’s Mt Kenya aspirants meeting hosted by Dr Fred Matiang’i in Limuru,” Matiang’i posted.
He added: “Beyond the speeches, a few moments from today’s Mt Kenya Aspirants Meeting in Limuru.”
Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Jeremiah Kioni was among the party officials who attended the meeting.
The gathering comes as Matiang’i continues to position himself as one of the key opposition figures seeking to build a political base in Mt Kenya and other parts of the country ahead of the 2027 polls.
The former Interior Cabinet Secretary has said Jubilee will continue intensifying its grassroots engagements across the country as it seeks to rebuild its support and expand its national network.
On Tuesday, August 11, Matiang’i met residents and Jubilee aspirants in Mokomoni, Borabu Constituency, where he reiterated the party’s focus on direct engagement with wananchi.
The former CS has increasingly been associated with Jubilee’s renewed mobilisation activities, with the party seeking to reconnect with voters and strengthen its structures ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Matiang’i has also sought to distance himself from speculation that he could work with President William Ruto as part of a broader political arrangement ahead of the 2027 election.
Speaking to K24 TV on Monday, August 10, he said his political future remained tied to Jubilee Party.
His continued engagements in Mt Kenya come as political parties and presidential hopefuls intensify efforts to win support in the region, which remains a key electoral bloc.

During the tour, he interacted with residents and local leaders in areas including Kabati, Muthithi and Kigumo.
He also made stopovers at trading centres, including Kabati and Muthithi Shopping Complex, where he addressed residents as part of the party’s grassroots outreach.
The former CS has also been engaging with opposition and regional political leaders during public rallies and church events as he seeks to build support ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
The Limuru meeting is expected to further strengthen Jubilee’s engagement with aspirants in Mt Kenya and provide a platform for the party to assess its grassroots structures ahead of the elections.
