Raila Odinga Junior has addressed a viral video that sparked intense debate across social media platforms. The footage showed him speaking to a crowd through a chain-link fence during a high-profile visit to Kilgoris.

This event coincided with President William Ruto’s daughter Charlene’s koito (traditional wedding) ceremony.

Many netizens claimed the interaction took place inside the President’s private Intonna Heritage Farm. However, the businessman and son of veteran politician Raila Odinga has issued a formal statement to debunk these claims.

Airstrip, Not Private Farm

Raila Junior clarified that the location was not a private residence. "For clarity: this was not at the President’s private home. It took place at the public airstrip in Kilgoris," he stated.

He explained that the interaction was spontaneous. "As I alighted from the aircraft, a group of wananchi who recognised me waved me over and asked to greet me," he added.

According to his statement, the barrier seen in the video was a standard safety fence for the aircraft landing area.

The Scene at the Fence

In the video, Raila Junior is seen standing near a wire mesh fence. On the other side, a group of eager residents gathered to hear him speak. Many in the crowd appeared to be ordinary citizens from the local area, looking on with anticipation as he addressed them directly.

He responded to the crowd in a friendly manner. "I responded to their greeting in the normal way one does with members of the public," he noted in his official statement.

A Message of Unity and Development

During the brief address, Raila Junior spoke about national unity and development. He reminded the crowd of his father’s legacy.

The statement also acknowledged the high level of public scrutiny. Raila Junior expressed his appreciation for the interest shown in his activities.

"I am pleased by the rigor and keen interest with which netizens follow my journey," he stated. He concluded by promising to provide more regular updates to the public. "I shall endeavour to update you more frequently," he wrote.

The video continues to circulate online, but the official clarification places the encounter at a public facility rather than a private estate.
