Mama Dangote, the mother of Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz, celebrated her 59th birthday in style over the weekend. The glitzy event took an unexpected turn when a new man was introduced as her current partner.
The revelation occurred during the height of the festivities. Musician Ommy Dimpoz took to the podium and surprised the gathered guests. He summoned a man to the stage whom he identified as his own uncle, Chelu Fundikira.
A New ‘Heartbeat’ Revealed
Ommy Dimpoz did not hold back when describing the relationship between the two. He told the audience that the UK-based man is Mama Dangote's new romantic interest.
"This is my uncle. His name is Chelu Fundikira. He lives in the UK, but luckily, right now, he is the heart of Mama,” Ommy Dimpoz introduced him.
"So right now, Diamond and I have moved from the issue of friendship to becoming family," he said during the event.
He further emphasized the new connection by stating, "Mama has a heartbeat. And by bad luck or good luck, her heartbeat is my uncle."
Uncle Shamte Confirms Split
The appearance of Chelu Fundikira comes just one week after Mama Dangote's former partner, Uncle Shamte, confirmed their breakup. On 7 July 2026, Shamte addressed the status of their relationship publicly for the first time.
He revealed that the separation was not recent. He claimed the pair had actually been apart for a significant period.
"I want to speak briefly and those listening should know that we are not together. This is like the second year I am not with her."
Uncle Shamte, also known as Rally Jones, had been a prominent figure in Diamond’s family for years. The couple was frequently seen together in public and often shared displays of affection on social media. However, Shamte made it clear that those days are over.

Shamte's confirmation came during an interview where he was asked if Mama Dangote still influenced his life, specifically his choice of clothing. He responded firmly that they are no longer connected.
"We are not together and this does not concern her," Shamte stated. He added that people should no longer use her as a point of contact for him.
