Media personality Betty Kyallo and her partner Charlie Jones have revealed that they have bought a piece of land for their daughter, Baby Nova, making her a landowner before she turns one.

The announcement was shared through Betty Kyallo’s Instagram Stories as part of a campaign by Risiih Investments dubbed “Plots for Tots”, which encourages parents to secure land for their children from an early age.
The initiative aims to promote conversations around wealth creation, inheritance planning and long-term financial security for future generations.
The couple welcomed Nova Aurora Jones in April this year, marking their first child together. Since then, they have frequently shared milestones from their parenting journey with their followers.
“While most babies get toys, Baby Nova gets land.”
According to the campaign, purchasing land early allows families to begin building assets that may appreciate in value over time while creating a foundation for future inheritance planning.

Mixed reactions online

As expected, the announcement quickly sparked debate on social media, with some followers applauding the gesture while others viewed it as a marketing campaign.
One Instagram user, @nyarkisumo2549, commented:
“Advertising jameni mnatupea pressure za bure 😂😂.”
Another, @princechacha, joked about the practical side of registering property in a child’s name. “Mchezo wa taoni ndio wakikosana land ikue ni ya mtoto 😂 congrats to baby thoh 🙌.”
User @nairobi.oxygen5 dismissed the post as purely promotional. “Hio ni advert tu poooh 😂😂.”
Meanwhile, @selector_sett questioned how property ownership works when registered under a minor.
“Imagine you can sell the land in case you want to juu iko under minor 😳.”

Bigger conversation

Beyond the celebrity announcement, the campaign has reignited discussion around financial planning for children. Property investment is often considered a long-term asset that can be passed from one generation to another, although financial advisers generally recommend that families weigh such investments alongside education, savings, and other future needs.
Whether viewed as a thoughtful family milestone or an advertising campaign, Baby Nova’s latest gift has succeeded in getting people talking about inheritance, investment and how parents can plan for their children’s future.
