Kenyan content creator and digital influencer Diana Marua has sparked an intense conversation online after releasing a vulnerable video detailing the hidden pressures within her marriage.
In the video, titled “IT’S TOO MUCH 😩 I NEED A BREAK!!!”, she admits to feeling deeply overwhelmed by her domestic and emotional responsibilities.
The Struggle to be Heard
The core of Diana’s frustration lies in a breakdown of communication. She reveals that when she tries to share her feelings or seek support, her husband often dismisses her concerns as mere complaints.
She explains that whenever she attempts to be heard, Bahati labels her as dramatic.
“I can’t be coming to you, and you start telling me that I’m being dramatic, that I like complaining, and I’m like, why am I complaining? I just want to be heard.I just want you to listen to me," she says.
This reaction has left her feeling isolated within her own home. She feels her efforts are overlooked andher voice is silenced by these labels.
“Sometimes I feel like to pack my bags and go and not want to be in this thing called marriage because I am tired,” she added.
The Mental Load of Motherhood
Beyond the emotional disconnect, Diana describes a heavy mental load. She is constantly tasked with managing the household’s daily needs. Simple questions like "What are we having for dinner?" have become a source of exhaustion.
She feels she has sacrificed her own desires for the sake of the family. She notes that even when she tries to schedule "me time," such as a visit to the spa, parental duties often pull her back.
She expressed frustration that the responsibility of parenting often feels lopsided, asking, "Aren't you a parent too?" when discussing her husband’s role.
Seeking Appreciation
Diana highlights that it is not large gestures that she craves, but simple recognition. She mentions her efforts to stay fit at the gym and her attention to her appearance, such as her nails and outfits.
"Do you know what makes us feel loved? It’s not the flowers, it’s not the gifts... it’s the simple things," she explains.

A Desire for a Break
The accumulated stress has led Diana to a breaking point. She admits that there are moments when she feels like packing her bags and leaving her marriage for at least a week to find peace.
"At this point, it is too much," she tells her audience, adding that she is tired of always being the one to bow down. While she remains in the marriage, she is calling for a change in how women are treated and listened to in long-term relationships.
