Ugandan-born entrepreneur and socialite Zarinah Hassan, widely known as Zari the Boss Lady, has confirmed the end of her five-year relationship with boxer Shakib Cham Lutaaya.
The South African-based businesswoman shared the news with her millions of followers through a joint statement on her Instagram stories.
The announcement comes after months of public speculation regarding the couple’s status. According to the post, the decision to separate followed a period of much thought and reflection.
A Joint Decision
The couple described the move as a mutual choice. They cited irreconcilable differences as the primary reason for ending their five-year journey together. Despite the split, the tone of the announcement remained respectful and amicable.
Zari and Shakib noted that while the decision was difficult, they believe it is the "right one" for both parties. They expressed gratitude for the time spent together and the memories they built since they first became a couple.

Before her time with Shakib, Zari was in a famous relationship with Tanzanian Bongo Flava star Diamond Platnumz. The pair share two children, Latiffah and Prince Nillan.
That relationship ended abruptly on Valentine’s Day in 2018. At the time, Zari publicly stated she was leaving the singer due to his repeated infidelities.
Zari is also the mother of three older sons from her first marriage to the late Ugandan tycoon Ivan Ssemwanga. Ssemwanga passed away in 2017.
