Former nominated senator Gloria Orwoba has disclosed that she once appeared as a video vixen in the popular Dem Wangu Amemnoki DJ music video by musician Andrew Mbogo, popularly known as Andre.
Speaking during an interview on Kameme TV, Orwoba said she featured in the hit song’s video years before becoming a mother and entering public life.
“By the way, I used to be a video vixen. Back in the days of Dem Wangu Amemnoki DJ, I was one of the video vixens in that music video. That was before I had my baby girl. Go check it out and see if you can spot me,” she said.
Looking for opportunities
“I was always someone looking for opportunities and experiences,” she said.
“We would hear about parties, go check them out, see how parties in Runda looked, then return to our ghetto,” she stated.
Beyond music videos
She also spent time at the Kenya National Theatre, where she participated in school play productions and set-book performances.
“I also did experiential marketing, riding on roadshows. I went to the Kenya National Theatre and was part of the cast performing school plays and set books. I always had skills and couldn’t just sit at home. I did so many different things,” she said.

Earlier media ambitions
“I looked for my uncle, Fred Obachi Machoka, and told him, ‘Honestly, Uncle, what’s up? Please connect me. I think I can be a radio presenter,” she said.
