After years of heartbreak, near misses, and endless banter from rival supporters, Arsenal fans across the world are finally celebrating again.
Among them is Kenyan President William Ruto, who joined millions of supporters in marking Arsenal’s first Premier League title in 22 years.

Ruto, a longtime Arsenal supporter, shared an emotional message shortly after the title was confirmed.
The president praised the club’s resilience through difficult seasons, saying Arsenal’s journey reflected the importance of discipline, hope, and teamwork.
“It has been quite an experience to follow Arsenal Football Club's epic adventure, from times of struggle and crushing setback, to successive seasons of recovery and resurgence,” Ruto wrote.
He added that the title win proved that persistence eventually pays off.
“We have witnessed the power of hope, resilience, focus, and relentless hard work in action.”
Ruto concluded his message by congratulating the team and supporters for remaining patient during the difficult years.
“Tonight, the great reward is won. The team is victorious.”
Arsenal fans celebrate online.
Arsenal’s title victory triggered wild celebrations online, with supporters flooding social media with memes, chants, and emotional tributes after the club finally ended its 22-year drought.
Some fans described the triumph as a reward for years of loyalty despite repeated disappointments.
One supporter wrote:
“For 22 years, we were mocked. Bottle jobs. Almost men. But we stayed loyal. And now after 22 long years of pain and perseverance, we are finally champions again.”
The celebrations also sparked reactions from Kenyan fans responding directly to Ruto’s message.
Collins Talyian Kiptoo commented:
“It’s finally home, Mr President, as you predicted.”
Another supporter, Euphemia Atieno Ang'wen, wrote:
“Finally,we did it, and we can now breathe.”
Joseph Njane jokingly urged the president to reward Arsenal fans nationally.
“We are the Arsenal. Kindly give us a public holiday.”
Victor Vicky echoed similar sentiments, adding:
“We need a holiday right away, Mr Kasongo.”
Meanwhile, Enock Kiplangat Bett playfully linked Arsenal’s success to politics.
“When you mention Arsenal, that is where I consider you a two-term president.”
Ruto’s long-standing Arsenal passion
The president has openly supported Arsenal F.C. for years and has previously spoken publicly about the club.
In May 2025, William Ruto hosted the UEFA Champions League trophy at State House, Nairobi, during Heineken’s “Cheers to the Hardcore Fans” campaign.
Football legend Bastian Schweinsteiger accompanied the trophy during its Kenyan tour, attracting excitement among local football supporters.
During the event, Ruto openly backed Arsenal ahead of their Champions League semifinal clash against Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in Paris.
“Personally, I support Arsenal, and I hope they can overturn the loss to PSG and advance to the finals,” he said.
The president also thanked UEFA and Kenya Wine Agencies Limited (KWAL) for bringing the famous trophy to Kenya, noting that many local supporters rarely get the opportunity to witness such football events in person.
“Simply seeing the trophy is a very special moment for them,” Ruto added.
