Digital creator Mtu Necessary has criticised fellow content creator and board member Gaucho following a TikTok livestream recorded inside Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, raising fresh concerns about privacy and conduct in healthcare spaces.

Concerns over hospital conduct

The criticism emerged after Gaucho reportedly went live on TikTok while inside the Nairobi-based public hospital, prompting backlash online.
Mtu Necessary described the move as inappropriate, arguing that hospitals require a higher level of sensitivity due to the presence of vulnerable patients.
“It is very wrong for Gaucho to go inside Mama Lucy's hospital and do a live TikTok video.”

Privacy in healthcare spaces

Hospitals are widely regarded as protected environments where patient confidentiality is prioritised. In Kenya, privacy is a constitutional right, and healthcare providers are expected to safeguard patient information at all times.
Filming or broadcasting within such spaces without consent may raise ethical and legal concerns, particularly if patients or medical staff are identifiable. Many hospitals also display restrictions on photography and video recording within their premises.

Background: Appointment under scrutiny

His appointment to the board of Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital by the Nairobi County government took effect on April 16, 2026, for a three-year term. The decision has drawn mixed reactions, with critics questioning his qualifications.
In a recent interview with NTV, he confirmed he dropped out of school in Class Six.
“I indeed dropped out of school in class 6,” he said.
Despite this, he defended his role, arguing that formal education is not the only measure of leadership.
“I dedicate this achievement to the ghetto people who have stood by me… If I can come this far, then every young person in the ghetto can rise.”
