A shooting incident disrupted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, DC, after a gunman opened fire near a security screening area at the Washington Hilton.

The event, attended by Donald Trump and top officials, triggered a swift response from the Secret Service, which evacuated guests to safety. One officer was hit but protected by a bulletproof vest, while at least two people were injured.

No fatalities were reported. The suspect was arrested at the scene. Authorities say the attack may have targeted government officials.

The dinner was later cancelled, according to the BBC.
