Recognising the early signs of a stroke can be life-saving, health experts warn. A stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted, leading to brain cell damage.

Common symptoms include sudden weakness or numbness, especially on one side of the body, difficulty speaking or understanding speech, and sudden confusion.

Patients may also experience vision problems, dizziness, loss of balance, or a severe headache with no known cause.

According to World Health Organization, immediate medical attention is critical, as early treatment greatly improves survival and recovery outcomes
