Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has issued a detailed clarification regarding the Sh19 million debt claim made by comedian Sammy Kioko.
The official report was released on Facebook just hours after the entertainer was allegedly assaulted at the county headquarters on 31st March 2026.
“I express concern over the unfortunate incident that occurred in Machakos Town on 31st March, 2026. As a County Government, we do not condone violence in any form,” the governor stated.

Kioko Not a Registered Supplier
In a surprising revelation, Governor Ndeti stated that Sammy Kioko is not a registered supplier for the County Government of Machakos. According to official records, the contract for Inspectorate uniforms was awarded to Movata Designs.
The Governor explained that for any individual to represent a company, they must provide a valid Power of Attorney or formal legal appointment.
“Our records indicate that Mr. Sammy Kioko is not a registered supplier of the County Government of Machakos. The entity that supplied Inspectorate uniforms is Movata Designs.”

The administration acknowledged that supplies were indeed made by Movata Designs. However, the Governor noted that only a partial delivery took place towards the end of the 2023/2024 financial year.
Because of this timing, the county could not conduct a formal inspection and acceptance of the goods. As a result, the payment was categorised as a pending bill.
“As an administration committed to transparency and accountability, my government established a Pending Bills Committee to ascertain the existence, completeness, and legitimacy of projects underlying all pending bills,” she added.

Hospitalisation and X-Ray Results
The Governor's report followed a wave of social media updates concerning Kioko’s health. Comedian 2mbili shared X-ray results showing that Kioko suffered a fracture in his left thigh near the knee. The comedian is reportedly in plaster and cannot walk or stand.
While 2mbili alleged that county hospitals were "summoned" not to treat the comedian, Governor Ndeti maintained that the county does not condone violence and urged all suppliers owed by the county to be patient.
“I appeal to all our valued suppliers to exercise patience and engage the County Government through proper channels. Public demonstrations and media campaigns, while understandable, cannot override lawful procedures,” she appealed.

She also concluded by adding that her administration remains open, transparent, and committed to serving the people of Machakos with dignity, fairness, and integrity.
“Government is a perpetual institution, and all verified obligations will be honored in due course.”
