Kamba musician Ndeke Yamuthanga has found himself at the centre of a social media storm after unveiling his newly built home.

The controversy follows a recent appearance on the Obinna Show Live, where the artist claimed the property cost him a staggering KSh 14 million.

While the musician views the house as a major milestone, many fans have expressed skepticism over the valuation and the architectural style of the building.

The Bold Claims

During his interview with Obinna 2 weeks ago, Ndeke Yamuthanga described a property that sounded like a fortress of luxury.

He told the host that the house features 16 rooms, excluding corridors, and includes four bathrooms.

He also claimed the compound is secured by three different gates, each manned by specific guards—including one he hired "for funny" reasons.

The musician was adamant that he does not fake his lifestyle. He explained that he built the house to prove to his peers that artists should invest in permanent homes rather than spending all their money in the city.

"I am the kingdom. I deal with money of notes, not small change,” he said during the interview.

Fans Demand Accountability

The reaction from the public was immediate and sharply divided. While some followers offered congratulations, a large number of commenters questioned the Ksh 14 million price tag.

On social media, users pointed out that the single-storey structure resembles a standard rural bungalow, which typically costs significantly less to construct.

Mike Tesh: "ambia ndeke yamuthanga AKA Mr feimathere is different between mansion and mashon.

Supportive and Anticipatory Comments

Despite the controversy, many fans expressed excitement for his appearance on the show and celebrated his milestone:

Roselyn Majob Kavyu: "Thats Ndeke for you, all roads led to Ndeke mansion, no other than Ndeke, forever trending."

Dorcas Mwangeli: "hatubanduki eh pia sisi hatutoki hapa lazima tumalize na nyinyi siku ya leo."

A Unique Aesthetic

The physical appearance of the house has also been a major talking point. The building features a striking colour scheme of lime green and bright orange walls, accented by red brick-patterned pillars.

The roof is a complex, multi-gabled design made of blue-grey iron sheets.

Despite the artist’s claims of an "electric fence," observers noted that the property appeared to be surrounded by a basic chain-link fence supplemented by live sisal plants.

Ndeke wa Muthanga remains unfazed by the online chatter, insisting that the house is a testament to his hard work since entering the music industry in 2020.

He had invited several high-profile guests to a housewarming ceremony that was scheduled for March 28, 2026 to see the property for themselves.
