"This one was my very close friend, if people were allowed to marry as children, i’d have married her. There is just that one person you love, even when you are both still very young," Sudi remarked to the cheering crowd.

He recalled a specific trip they took to Kisumu. They visited the Chemelil sugar factory together.

A Pledge of Support

The MP’s story was not just about the past. He used the platform to announce his commitment to her future. Sudi revealed that he was willing to continue supporting her by paying school fees for her daughter.

“And because you evaded me, I’d like to support your girl; that responsibility leave it for me.”

He promised the crowd that his support would not end there. Sudi pledged to continue "holding her hand" to ensure she achieves her goals. He stated his intention to help her find a clear career path and provide the necessary resources for her to succeed.

"I will hold her hand. I will ensure she gets an education, and I will find a path for her until she succeeds."

From Humble Beginnings

This public display of gratitude is consistent with Sudi’s public persona. The Kapseret MP often speaks about his own "rags-to-riches" journey. Before entering politics, Sudi worked as a matatu (public service vehicle) conductor and a charcoal seller.

His rise to become a three-term Member of Parliament is a well-known story in Kenyan politics.
