A new report has revealed the world’s unhappiest countries, based on findings from the World Happiness Report 2026.
The study ranks nations using happiness scores on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 representing the highest level of life satisfaction.
Afghanistan ranks lowest with a score of 1.4. Sierra Leone, Malawi, and Zimbabwe follow at 3.3.
Botswana and Yemen score 3.5, while Lebanon records 3.7. Democratic Republic of the Congo scores 3.8, while Egypt and Tanzania each record 3.9.
The data reflects responses from over 100,000 people between 2023 and 2025
