Pristine Mara Bay Lodge has officially introduced its new property to key players in the Kenyan tourism industry during an exclusive cocktail event held at the Swiss Lenana Mount Hotel.

The evening brought together leading tour operators, travel agents, and destination management companies.

It served as an important platform for the Lodge to build stronger relationships with the trade partners who play a vital role in the country's travel sector.

The event takes place at a challenging time for global tourism. Ongoing conflict in the Middle East continues to disrupt international travel networks.

According to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), the situation is costing the travel sector at least $600 million per day in lost visitor spending across the Middle East.

This is due to flight disruptions, reduced traveller confidence, and lower regional connectivity, which are affecting demand worldwide.

For African destinations, the effects have been significant. The Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA) notes that nearly 50 per cent of all transit air traffic to Africa passes through the Middle East.

This makes the region one of the continent's most important aviation gateways. With major carriers like Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Etihad facing operational challenges and airspace closures, tourism sectors across Africa are seeing a drop in forward bookings.

Despite these challenges, Pristine Mara Bay Lodge's event highlighted the strength of Kenya's tourism industry and its position as a top safari destination.

Guests learned about the Lodge's prime location in the heart of the Maasai Mara and its reputation for excellent year-round wildlife viewing.

The discussions focused on the property's broad appeal, catering to both luxury travellers and families looking for an unforgettable bush experience.

Working alongside the Kenya Tourism Board and the Magical Kenya brand, Pristine Mara Bay Lodge is committed to promoting one of the country's finest destinations.

The gathering aimed to create new partnerships and position the Lodge as a leading choice for travel agents offering clients an authentic yet comfortable safari experience.

Industry players remain hopeful. Experience shows that tourism demand can recover fairly quickly when governments and industry stakeholders respond well.

The WTTC points out that travel and tourism is one of the most resilient sectors, with recovery possible in as little as two months when clear communication and strong cooperation between public and private groups help restore traveller confidence.

The evening brought together key trade partners who are vital to the country's tourism ecosystem, including the Kenya Tourism Board assistant deputy director, business tourism Zablon Mwangi, among others.
