In a message shared on his social media platforms, Omondi urged Nairobians to take part in the exercise scheduled for Saturday at 8 a.m., asking participants to bring basic cleaning tools such as brooms, rakes, gloves and face masks.
“Nairobi is our home, we will not wait any longer. We will act to prevent further death and destruction,” Omondi wrote in the post.“Let’s all meet at Uhuru Park this Saturday at 8am. Carry a broom, a rake, a glove and a mask.”
He also asked those planning to attend to comment online using the hashtag #FagiaNairobi, alongside #SisiKwaSisi, a phrase often used in citizen-driven community initiatives.

Citizen-Led Clean-Up Call
According to the comedian, the exercise aims to mobilise residents to take part in improving the city’s environment through voluntary community action. The message emphasised collective responsibility for keeping Nairobi clean.
Participants have been encouraged to bring their own cleaning equipment as they gather at the park before moving to various areas to carry out the clean-up.
The planned meeting point, Uhuru Park, is one of Nairobi’s most recognisable public spaces located in the central business district. The park is open to the public and has previously hosted civic gatherings, recreational activities and community events.
Omondi’s Previous Mobilisation Efforts
Omondi has, in recent years, used his public platform to organise social initiatives and civic campaigns. These have included public gatherings, fundraising drives and calls for community action.
Earlier in 2026, he mobilised Kenyans to attend a fundraising event at Uhuru Park to support a barber battling cancer, with participants contributing donations and taking part in activities organised at the venue.

Social Media Campaign
The #FagiaNairobi campaign quickly circulated online following Omondi’s announcement, with users sharing the message and confirming their participation.
Supporters of the initiative have described it as an opportunity for residents to contribute directly to improving their surroundings through volunteer work.
The planned clean-up is expected to begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, with participants gathering at Uhuru Park before starting the activity.
Organisers have encouraged anyone willing to join to bring cleaning tools and protective gear and to share their participation using the hashtags #FagiaNairobi and #SisiKwaSisi on social media.
