The world marks International Women’s Day every year on March 8, with global campaigns highlighting progress and challenges in advancing gender equality.

Data from UN Women shows the themes have shifted over the past five years to reflect emerging priorities. In 2025, the theme was “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment,” while 2024 focused on “Inspire Inclusion.”

In 2023, the theme was “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality.” Earlier themes included “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow” in 2022 and “Women in Leadership: Achieving an Equal Future in a COVID-19 World” in 2021.

The 2026 theme is “Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls.”
