A joint memorial service for the late Emurua Dikirr MP and five others who perished in a helicopter crash was held on Wednesday morning at the Africa Gospel Church (AGC) in Karen, Nairobi.

Families of the victims gathered at Lee Funeral Home before proceeding to the church for the solemn service, which drew relatives, well-wishers; members of Parliament; government officials; and clergy.

The service marked the first major public farewell after the tragic February 28 crash in Mosop, Nandi County, that claimed six lives, including the pilot and members of the MP Johana Ngeno's team.

Parliament suspended its morning sitting to allow legislators to attend the ceremony, underscoring the national significance of the loss.

Following the requiem at AGC Karen, the bodies will be taken to Emurua Dikirr Primary School on Thursday for a public service and overnight vigil in line with tradition.

The final funeral and burial for MP Ng'eno is scheduled for Friday, March 6, at the same venue, where leaders and community members are expected to gather for the last goodbye.
