The ten-round title contest headlined the “Nightmare in Nairobi II” card held at Masshouse along Ngong Road. Kalakoda Promotions promoted the event.
Wasike faced Tanzania’s experienced cruiserweight, Jacob Maganga, who brought more than a decade of professional experience into the bout. The regional belt was on the line.

Career Milestone

The victory marked Wasike’s first regional professional title. It also extended his record to seven wins, six of them coming by stoppage.

Speaking after the bout, Wasike said:

“It feels good to finally be the East and Central African champion. It’s been a long journey.”
He added that he plans to take a short break before confirming his next fight.

Path to Commonwealth Opportunity

According to Kenya Professional Boxing Commission president Reuben Ndolo, winners in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions from the event are expected to be considered for future Commonwealth title opportunities.
The Nairobi contest concluded with Wasike in possession of the regional cruiserweight belt, positioning him among the leading contenders in East and Central African professional boxing.
