
A couple was arrested after the murder of a woman whose body was found dead in
their house following an altercation in Njathaini, Nairobi county.
The body of Vallery Okumu, 28, was with stab wounds in the chest, face, head, stomach, eye, breast and leg.
She had earlier gone to a house belonging to a couple where an altercation broke out.
The husband in the house told police the woman attacked him and his wife prompting them to respond for self defence.
Police said the husband is a Tanzanian. It was during the altercation that the said woman was stabbed multiple times.
Police said the multiple injuries the woman had point to murder and were out of rage.
The man then reported the matter to the police who came to the scene and collected the body to the mortuary for postmortem.
The couple was later arrested for grilling, further processing and possible arraignment.
Locals said the deceased was known to the couple but could not understand what prompted the fatal altercation.
In Likuyani, Kakamega county, 38-year-old man was electrocuted in a tragic incident in their house in a village in Likuyani, Kakamega county.
Police said Ian Ilavonga died after he leaned on a live naked wire in a house in Lumino area.
He and a friend were inspecting an unoccupied house when he leaned on the wall oblivious of the dangers there.
He died on the spot before the body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy, police said.
Electrocution has of late been seen as a leading cause of deaths in the country. Officials blame use of quacks for wiring and illegal connections for most of the incidents.
In Hagadera, Garissa County, one Amino Mohamed, 44 was electrocuted in her house within the refugee camp.
The victim is said to have been cleaning her fridge when she was electrocuted and died on the spot. She was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body was later buried as per Islamic rites.
Elsewhere, police are investigating an incident where the body of a man was found at a beach in Ngerenya area, Kilifi County after suspected drowning.
The body was discovered at Soyosoyo beach on February 23 by local fishermen after it had been washed to the shores of the Indian Ocean.
Police said the man’s eyes had been gorged out and his skin was peeling off on both hands and forehead.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.
