
Police are investigating an incident where the decomposed body of a man was found in a thicket after a suspected murder in Qate area, Moyale, Marsabit County.
The body lay in the thicket, where it was likely dumped almost a week ago, police and locals said. It was discovered on February 25 by locals, who alerted authorities.
Police said they were yet to identify the man or establish a motive. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures. No arrests had been made by Thursday.
In Tarassa, Tana River County, the body of a man was found along Minjila-Malindi Road after a suspected murder.
The man, identified as Kelvin Opiyo, 37, was blindfolded and had visible head injuries. He is believed to have been killed elsewhere and dumped at the site, which showed marks of vehicle tyres.
The body was moved to the mortuary for an autopsy. Police said they were investigating the murder, and the motive was still unknown hours after the body was discovered.
Meanwhile, in Kinamba, Laikipia County, a 48-year-old woman who had gone missing for ten days was found dead in a forest.
Police said Rantanoi Lolmodooni had been missing before her decomposed body was found in Ol Maisor Ranch on February 24.
The cause of death was unclear as the body was moved to the mortuary for an autopsy.
In Hadado, Wajir County, police investigated the death of an electrician who collapsed while working. Geoffrey Mulinge, 42, was installing solar panels when he developed breathing difficulties and collapsed.
He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
In Chinga area, Nyeri County, Daniel Kanyi, 46, was found dead outside his house after a suspected murder. The motive was not immediately known.
Police said the body had visible injuries to the head and hands and was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Police in Kenol, Muranga County, are investigating the death of a nine-year-old girl who collapsed at home on February 25. Her mother told police she was undoing the girl’s hair when the child asked for water and later collapsed.
She was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy. The incident left the family devastated as they awaited the results.
