The management of Westlands Primary School has praised President William Ruto for his continued support of education through infrastructure development.
This follows the successful completion of additional classrooms funded by the national government.
Ruto praised Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi, the school’s board of management led by Pauline Akuku and other stakeholders for ensuring the project was implemented effectively.
He said strong leadership and accountability were key to the project’s success.
Ruto encouraged the learners to remain focused, resilient and disciplined in their academic journey.
He said education remains the most powerful tool for personal and national development, attributing his own rise to leadership to hard work, integrity, mentorship, and commitment to learning.
“I was once seated where you are seated today. Through education, self-discipline and consistent effort, you can achieve great things. Keep working hard, pass your exams, and remain focused on your goals,” Ruto told the students.
Board chairperson Pauline Akuku expressed gratitude to the Head of State, describing the new classrooms as a major milestone that will significantly improve the learning environment.
“On behalf of the board, I wish to express our sincere appreciation to the President for the provision of additional classrooms. This intervention will greatly enhance the quality of education and improve learning conditions for our students,” she said.
“While more infrastructural development is still needed, this support reassures us of the government’s commitment to education.”
Ruto launched other classrooms at Kihumbini Primary School, also funded by the national government as part of its broader education infrastructure agenda.
MCA Hamisi Maleya praised the President’s development-focused leadership, saying improved infrastructure directly contributes to better educational outcomes.
“The President has demonstrated true commitment to development. Our learners can now access education in a conducive environment with proper facilities,” Maleya said.
