Popular Kenyan forex trader Kenyan Prince recently sparked conversation online after appearing to catch the attention of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) following videos in which he flaunted his wealth on social media.
The trader, whose real name is Raymond Omosa, had shared clips showing large sums of money, prompting KRA’s official social media page to repost the video with a humorous caption written in street slang. In the post, the tax authority jokingly asked Prince to share tips on how to make similar amounts of money.
The playful comment quickly stirred speculation among social media users, with some suggesting that the forex trader might be under investigation by the taxman. Others wondered whether the repost was a subtle warning from the authority. The online chatter intensified partly because the trader has previously faced allegations from critics questioning the legitimacy of his wealth.
However, it later emerged that the money seen in the viral clip was being used to complete a payment for a new luxury vehicle. The purchase added another high-end car to Prince’s already flashy collection of expensive rides.
Kenyan Prince responds to KRA post
Prince responded to the buzz through his TikTok account, where he posted a video addressing the rumours while showing off the newly acquired car.
According to him, KRA’s post was not meant to suggest any wrongdoing but was simply a congratulatory message.
“Guys, I saw that KRA is posting me and my winnings. It was a congratulatory message. People have started saying that I am in hot soup. You cannot understand. If I buy a car, the tax has already been paid for. A registered car in Kenya has already been cleared,” he said.
The trader insisted that there was nothing suspicious about the purchase, explaining that taxes are settled before a vehicle is fully registered in the country.

Questions about his relationship status
Beyond the viral exchange with KRA, Prince has also recently been clarifying his relationship status.
In an earlier interview with comedian Dr Ofweneke, he claimed that he and his partner, Stephanie Ngunjiri, were legally married “the government way.” He explained that although they had not yet held a traditional white wedding, they intended to organise one in the future when the timing felt right.
At the time, the trader also admitted that he was still learning about his partner and said he was not entirely certain whether she loved him for who he is or for his wealth.
“We are enjoying each other”
However, in a later conversation with Mpasho, Prince appeared to revise his earlier statement, explaining that he and Stephanie were currently living together rather than being formally married.
When asked about the possibility of marriage, he suggested that the decision would ultimately depend on divine timing.
“That’s God’s plan. I may decide, and maybe God has not. Women are very strange creatures. If they sat with the snake and ate the fruit, never trust those creatures. Wish yourself all the best, but let God do everything for you. When the right time comes, and God says she is the one, then why not. We are enjoying each other; it is a mutual benefit,” he said.

Prince also shared his views on modern relationships, arguing that couples who live together without legal marriage are essentially in what he described as a transactional arrangement.
“You have not married someone officially; that is called come-we-stay. They are probably getting something from you that you are getting from them. You do not know what they are thinking, and they do not know what you are thinking; you do not know each other’s intentions,” he added.
