A recent report by the Media Council of Kenya, titled "Navigating the Digital Reality," reveals that most Kenyan consumers prefer low-cost digital content.

The survey, conducted between late 2025 and early 2026, shows that 27.4% of respondents are only willing to pay below Sh100, while 23% cap their spending at Sh299. Interestingly, 13.7% of those surveyed are unwilling to pay anything at all.

Only a small fraction—7.7%—are comfortable spending over Sh1,000. These findings highlight a significant challenge for creators and media houses attempting to monetise digital platforms in a price-sensitive market.
