Kenyan social media personality Marion Naipei has publicly claimed she is pregnant and named televangelist Victor Kanyari as the father, prompting widespread discussion across digital platforms.
Naipei, 23, made the claim during a TikTok livestream in which she said, “Si kitambi ni mimba ni ya Kanyari,” loosely translated to mean her protruding belly is due to pregnancy and not weight gain. The phrase quickly circulated on TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, drawing mixed reactions from users.

Background to the Viral Attention

Naipei first gained national attention after video clips showed her intoxicated at a Nairobi nightclub. The footage was widely shared online and sparked debate about youth culture and social media exposure.
Days later, she appeared at Salvation Healing Ministry, the church led by Kanyari. During a service, the preacher prayed for her and gave her financial assistance in front of congregants. Clips from the service were shared widely, further increasing public interest.
According to posts on her social media pages, Naipei has since referred to herself as “the wife of Kanyari” and maintained that she is carrying his child. No medical documents or independent confirmation have been made public.

Kanyari’s Response

Kanyari has denied any romantic involvement.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, he described the allegations as unfounded and said his interactions with Naipei were acts of charity. He stated that his focus remains on ministry work and community outreach.

“My mission is to serve and help those in need. The rumours being circulated are not true,” he said in the statement.
He also addressed past controversies, including scrutiny over his fundraising methods in 2014, widely known as the “mbegu ya 310” seed offering. At the time, investigative reports questioned the practice, and Kanyari later said financial pressures influenced some of his decisions.
