
Detectives are investigating the killing of a pedestrian who was stabbed by suspected thugs in the Chokaa area of Nairobi.
Police believe Aloyce Omondi alias Stano, was attacked and stabbed in the abdomen during a robbery mission.
His body was found along Jakom Road on the morning of February 18, 2026, hours after he had been killed.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures. Detectives visited the scene as part of the ongoing probe.
Police said several Nairobi residents were on Wednesday attacked and robbed by gangs riding motorcycles.
Some of the gangs had attended a presidential event in the Lucky Summer area and followed the president to the city centre, where most of the attacks occurred.
Two of the suspects were confronted by mobs and lynched in the Kileleshwa area during the chaos.
Police have urged victims to report the incidents as investigations continue.
The gangs targeted gadgets and other valuables. One pedestrian was stabbed and injured along Uhuru Highway and is admitted to hospital.
Police are investigating the incidents, Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat said.
In Bamburi area, Mombasa, the body of a man was found in a thicket in the Kalma Upepo area.
Police said the body had decomposed and was naked when it was discovered on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
In Tinganga area, Kiambu County, a mason died after falling from the roof of a building under construction.
Police said David Orwa, 37, was connecting gutters at a house in Migaa estate when he slipped and fell, landing on his head. He had been working with other masons at the site.
His body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said.
In Kiamachimbi, Nyeri County, Elijah Ndiritu Kinyua, 38, was found dead in a bush in a suspected murder.
He had been reported missing on February 12, 2026, by relatives in Gituri village in Ngandu sub-location.
Police said his right hand was found severed and lying about three metres from the body. His mobile phone was also recovered at the scene.
The motive of the murder was not immediately known, police said, adding that the body was moved to the mortuary.
In Kenol area, Muranga County, a boda boda rider identified as Samuel Nganga died in hospital after he was found unconscious on the roadside.
