Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has proposed hosting a paid live rap battle between Buruklyn Boyz and Toxic Lyrikali in an effort to ease rising tensions between the two camps.
In a video shared on his social media platforms, Mosiria suggested setting up a formal stage at the Kenya National Archives for a ticketed musical contest. The clip has since circulated widely on Instagram and Facebook, drawing reactions from fans and industry observers.

“Let the competition be on the mic, not in the streets,” he said in the video.

Background to the Rivalry
The dispute between the two rap acts has unfolded over several weeks, marked by diss tracks and online exchanges.
Buruklyn Boyz, a drill collective from Buru Buru, comprises members including Mr Right and Ajay. Toxic Lyrikali, a solo rapper from Kayole, has gained national attention for tracks such as Backbencher and Chinje.
The exchange escalated following the release of the track Stima by Buruklyn Boyz, which was widely interpreted as targeting Toxic Lyrikali. He later responded with Dumpsite.
Clashes in Donholm
Last week, tensions extended beyond music when supporters from both sides reportedly clashed in Donholm. Police responded to the incident, and minor property damage was reported. No official casualty figures were released.
Following the incident, Toxic Lyrikali publicly urged fans to allow the rivalry to remain within the music space.

Awaiting Artist Response
Mosiria’s proposal frames the rap battle as a revenue-generating event that could harness public interest while ensuring security and order.
At the time of publication, neither camp had issued an official statement confirming participation. Discussion continues across social media platforms as fans await further details on potential dates, ticket pricing and event logistics.
