Yesterday, Bishop Kathy Kiuna, co-founder of Jubilee Christian Church (JCC), shared a deeply emotional reflection on her second Valentine’s Day since the passing of her husband, Rev. Allan Kiuna.
In a candid Instagram post, she admitted that the day was "so tough" that she wasn't sure how she would navigate it, as memories of their 30-year romance flooded back.
A Message of Vulnerability and Faith
Kathy used her personal pain as a platform to encourage others who are navigating seasons of grief or heartbreak. She emphasised that having faith in God does not mean suppressing one's humanity or emotions.
"This day right here was so tough I didn’t even know how I’d get through it... It’s ok to cry and hurt and be angry and have questions and feel. It’s ok to be vulnerable. It’s human, and it’s ok, and God understands."
She reassured her followers that God is present in their pain and that "joy is coming in the morning," a message that resonated deeply with thousands of her supporters online.

Remembering Rev. Allan Kiuna (1966–2024)
The late Rev. Allan Kiuna passed away on July 9, 2024, at a Nairobi hospital following a courageous and prolonged battle with multiple myeloma (blood cancer).
The Battle: Allan was first diagnosed in 2018/2019 and underwent extensive treatment, including a period in the United States where the family reportedly spent over KSh 460 million on his care.
Legacy of Love: Throughout their marriage, the Kiunas were known for their "loud and open" affection, often serving as a model for Christian marriage in Kenya.
Continued Ministry: Following his death, Kathy was ordained as the Bishop of JCC in late July 2024 by Nigerian preacher Rev. Funke Felix-Adejumo, vowing to continue the vision they started together.

Milestones in 2025 and 2026
Since Allan's passing, the Kiuna family has marked several significant moments:
The New Addition: In October 2024, Kathy celebrated the birth of her daughter Vanessa's second child, describing the baby as an "October blessing".
Jeremy’s Wedding: In late 2025, their son Jeremy Kiuna held a traditional wedding, a joyful occasion that the family celebrated while honouring the memory of their patriarch.
Anniversary Tributes: In December 2025, Kathy shared a moving tribute to mark what would have been their wedding anniversary, continuing her tradition of public remembrance.
