Yasmeen Said Speaks Out After Child’s Dad Misses Son’s Birthday

Kenyan actress Yasmeen Said, popularly known for her role as Maria in the Swahili television series Maria, has publicly addressed a disagreement with her child’s father after he failed to attend their son’s second birthday.

In a video shared on her TikTok account on 12 February 2026, Yasmeen narrated that she had invited him to both contribute financially and attend the celebration. According to her account, he declined.

“Men! I sent him an invoice for our child’s birthday and told him to pay, and asked him if he would come, but he said he won’t. He doesn’t want to be around me. He said, ‘I don’t want to be around you, you’re toxic,’ and I was like, what about Lyrically? Take a minute to fear men,” she said in the post.

Birthday Celebration

Despite the absence of the child’s father, Yasmeen proceeded with the celebration. She shared photos of herself and her son marking the milestone.

The images were accompanied by a caption expressing gratitude and prayer:

“II ?Alhamdulillah for another year. May Allah keep you safe from what we cannot see!”

The child, referred to as Lyrically in the video, turned two years old this week.
