A fight between two tenants turned tragic when one of them was stabbed and killed in Langas, Uasin Gishu County.
Police said Dennis Ndovu, 30, was stabbed in the neck in a fight with another tenant at a residential house over unknown reasons.The accused person escaped the scene soon after the stabbing, which happened on the night of February 10.
Police visited the scene, found the body lying in a pool of blood, and moved it to the mortuary pending a postmortem. The hunt for the said assailant continued on Thursday, police said.
The suspect is believed to be hiding in the area, and police told him to surrender for grilling.
In Bungoma, a woman was stabbed in an attack in her house.The incident happened in Ndengwelwa village.Police said Mertrine Nafula picked a quarrel with her husband, who later picked up a kitchen knife that he allegedly used to stab the woman in the chest.
She died on the spot.The murder weapon was recovered at the scene after the assailant dropped it and escaped on foot.The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.
Elsewhere in Asumbi, Ranger, Homa Bay County, a two-year-old boy was found dead in a room with injuries in the head.Police said this was after he was hit with a spanner in the head by his father in an altercation.
The father escaped the scene after the tragedy. Police said they are yet to get details of what led to the fatal hit.The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and hunt for the man.
Meanwhile, police in Kiamaciri, Kirinyaga County, are investigating the drowning of a one-year-old baby boy in a family well.
The incident happened in Kianjogu village on February 10 as the child walked there. A neighbour said he saw the iron sheet used in covering the well missing and got concerned.
He went to check and discovered the child having drowned, with the body submerged in the well and trapped by the iron cover sheet. He raised alarm to the neighbourhood, who responded to find the child drowned.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations. In Ahero, Kisumu County, the body of a mechanic who had been missing was found drowned in a river.
He was identified as George Oruko, 41. Police said they are investigating the incident.
