Kenyan musician and businessman KRG The Don has confirmed he will vie for the Nairobi Senatorial seat in the 2027 General Election.
The artist, whose real name is Stephen Karuga Kimani, announced his intention through his social media platforms, calling on Nairobi residents to register as voters and participate in the electoral process.

The Nairobi senatorial race has already attracted several prominent names:
  • Edwin Sifuna – The incumbent Nairobi Senator, elected in 2022 on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket. He previously served as ODM Secretary-General.
  • Phelix Odiwuor (Jalang’o) – The Langata Member of Parliament and media personality who has publicly declared his intention to run for the Senate seat.
  • Jaymo Ule Msee – A comedian and digital content creator who has signalled plans to contest, reportedly seeking a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
  • Trevor Ombija (Bolo) – A Citizen TV news anchor who has reportedly expressed interest in elective politics, though reports vary on the specific seat.
Tabitha Karanja, the Nakuru Senator and business executive, has been mentioned in broader political discussions but has not confirmed interest in the Nairobi Senate seat.
