American streamer, Darren Watkins Jr, popularly known as IShowSpeed, has described his visit to Kenya as the most memorable highlight of his recent trip to Africa.

He said he was “astonished” by the overwhelming reception he received from Kenyan fans.

Speed revealed this during an interview with Yahoo Sports when he was asked to single out his favourite memory from the continent.

“I’d say my Kenyan visit was so crazy to me on how much people just came out for me,” he said.

 “Like I think it was maybe around 30,000 people came out from the city just to watch me stream and watch me. I don’t think I have ever seen so many people ever.”

The 21-year-old streamer, known globally for his animated football reactions and live-streamed adventures, said the turnout caught him completely off guard.

According to Speed, the magnitude of the reception in Kenya stood out even compared to other major appearances in his career.

“And just to think that I could pull such a crowd in Africa, I was astonished to be honest,” he added.

Speed’s visit to Kenya was marked by celebratory scenes as thousands of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of him during his public appearances and live streams.

 Videos circulating online showed massive crowds chanting his name, escorting his vehicle through city streets and packing venues.

His comments to Yahoo Sports underscore the growing influence of digital creators across global markets, particularly in Africa, where young audiences increasingly consume online streaming content.

For the YouTube star, whose brand thrives on spontaneous fan interaction, the Kenya experience appears to have left a lasting impression one he now ranks above other stops on his African tour.
