Artists Background

Mejja (real name Major Nameye Khadija) is a Kenyan Genge artist who began his career in the early 2000s.

He gained early recognition with songs like “Jana Kuliendaje” and has worked with artists such as Trio Mio and Femi One.

Mejja has been active for nearly two decades in Kenya’s mainstream music scene and has been involved in various collaborations and group projects over the years.

Toxic Lyrikali, by contrast, is a more recent figure in the Kenyan rap scene, known for his Sheng-infused hip hop and street-oriented lyrical style.

Emerging from Nairobi’s Eastlands area, he has gained traction through multiple tracks that resonate with younger audiences, often reflecting life experiences rooted in urban environments.

In 2025, Toxic Lyrikali was recognized as one of the rising voices in Kenyan rap, building momentum since his initial releases in 2022.

The Track “Manifest”

“Manifest” represents a musical collaboration that blends the artistic identities of both performers.

While Mejja has a long-established career in Genge and urban Kenyan music, Toxic Lyrikali brings a contemporary hip hop energy shaped by street narratives and lyrical intensity.
