
Detectives are investigating an incident where a 27-year-old man died in hospital after he had allegedly been assaulted by his brother in a domestic fight in Shinyalu, Kakamega county.
Police said Silas Abungana died on February 5, two days after his assault in the Masakiali village.
The two had argued before it went physical.
Police visited the deceased man’s home and recovered what they termed as the killer weapon.
The assailant escaped the scene on learning his brother had succumbed to the injuries as police moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Police said over the weekend they were pursuing the suspect for questioning over the murder.
Elsewhere in Kapsoya, Uasin Gishu county, one Faith Cheserek was found unresponsive on the roadside after suspected assault.
The woman was picked up and taken to a house where she died. Police said they are investigating the death and they are yet to know the motive of the same.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
In Tanaka, Busia county, a one year and ten months old boy drowned in a borehole in their home.
Police said the borehole was about 20 feet deep when the boy slipped and drowned there.
Locals retrieved the body as police arrived and moved it to the mortuary. Police said they were investigating the tragedy.
In Embu, police said they recovered a human leg from a river after suspected death or murder of a man elsewhere.
The leg was found floating on Rupingazi River on February 4, police said, adding it was stuck on a rock.
The leg was moved to the mortuary pending investigations into the source.
In Eshiongo, Navokholo, Kakamega County, a 60-year-old man drowned in a river in an incident.
The body of Albert Andayi was found on Naruchira River in Eshiyenga village long after his death.
Police said they had not known the circumstances under which the drowning happened.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
Meanwhile, police are investigating the drowning of one Robert Ogero, 30, in Nyachogochogo village, Kiambere, Nyamira County.
The man drowned in a borehole that he and two others were cleaning at a home.
The three were contracted to clean the borehole when Ogero slipped in and drowned. Efforts by his colleagues to rescue him did not bear any fruit, police and witnesses said.
This was after he slipped and fell into the water as the two pulled him out. The body was retrieved and moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures, police said of the February 5 incident.
And a guard was found dead outside an apartment in the Kasarani area, Nairobi.
The body of Lewis Mugambi, who was wearing his private guards’ uniforms, was found lying on a veranda long after he had died on Thursday morning. The body lay in a pool of blood, police and witnesses said.
The circumstances surrounding his death were not clear, even as the police moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
Police said they want to know if he was fatally hit or collapsed at the scene.
