The latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2026 highlight the world’s leading universities for law.

Stanford University in the United States tops the list, continuing its strong tradition in legal education.

Following closely are other U.S. institutions that dominate the global rankings, with Harvard University and New York University among the top performers.

The rankings evaluate universities on teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement and international outlook. European universities also feature prominently.

The University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom consistently ranks near the top, with the University of Oxford and University College London securing places in the global top 10.
