Police are investigating an incident where a man who had been missing was found dead in his house in Villa, Embakasi, Nairobi.
The deceased was identified as Job Nyabega. His body had started to decompose and was disturbing neighbours who found it.
The smell from his room attracted the neighbours who found the body lying on the bed. The cause of the death was not immediately established when the body was found on Monday, February 2, police said, adding that a postmortem will confirm the same.
In the Kabete area, Nairobi, one Macharia Njumbura was found dead after a suspected murder.
His body was found on the roadside off Waiyaki Way and was decomposing, police said.
The body had wounds on the forehead and burns on the stomach and buttocks.
The motive of the murder was not immediately known.
And a Burundi national was electrocuted at his place of work in Kakuma, Turkana County.
The man was on Monday February 2 operating a generator when he accidentally touched a live, naked wire.
Police said his body was found in a generator room. The generator was used in drilling stones in the area.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Elsewhere in Mweiga, Nyeri County, the body of a man was found in Honi River after a fall.
The man is said to have drowned and was nursing epilepsy. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Meanwhile, six pupils at Kiriko Primary School in Mathira, Nyeri County, were injured when a branch of a tree fell in their compound. Police and the school administration said the pupils were injured in a stampede.
They were taken to a local hospital, where they were treated and discharged.
The school administration was cutting trees in the compound when the incident happened.
Meanwhile, police in Kirinyaga are pursuing two women who stupefied a man in an incident in Sagana Town and stole his Sh1 million from his bank account.
The incident happened on Sunday morning when the man found himself in a car half naked with Sh10,000, credit cards and mobile phone missing.
The women later withdrew Sh1 million from the man’s bank accounts.
He had been at a bar in Sagana before later finding himself in Kibirigwi shopping centre long after he had been poisoned and robbed.
The victim was rushed to the hospital pending further investigations.
Police said they were pursuing the women behind the incident and other cases that have been reported in the area amid concerns they are rendering many zombies. The poison used in stupefying is damaging to the human body.
Police say such cases have been on the rise in the area and have linked a gang of women to the same. This has prompted investigations to solve the trend, police said on Tuesday, adding at least three women and a man had been arrested and prosecuted over the same.
