Lavish city preacher Lucy Natasha has unveiled plans to take her Empowerment Christian Church (ECC) ministry to South Sudan, barely a month after suspending physical church services in Nairobi.
The flashy televangelist made the announcement on her social media pages, revealing that ECC will officially open a new branch in Juba, South Sudan, marking the latest regional expansion of her ministry.

Nairobi Church Moves Fully Online
The announcement comes weeks after Natasha quietly halted in-person services at the church’s long-time Nairobi location at Biashara Plaza Rooftop. The decision, which took effect in mid-January, saw the popular city church transition entirely to online services.

At the time, Natasha explained that the move was due to logistical challenges with the venue, noting that the ministry was in the process of seeking a more permanent worship space.
“Due to venue challenges, we shall not be meeting physically until further notice. All our services will continue online,” read part of her notice to congregants, who were encouraged to stay prayerful as the church navigates the transition.
The Nairobi shutdown raised eyebrows among followers, especially given ECC’s history as one of the most visible urban churches, known for attracting young congregants, celebrities, and social media attention.

ECC Heads to South Sudan
On Sunday, February 1, Natasha confirmed that ECC is now setting roots outside Kenya, announcing the grand opening of Empowerment Christian Church South Sudan.
According to details shared online, the new church will operate from Gudele in Juba, with services hosted at Jubek Secondary School. Pastor Rina has been appointed to oversee the South Sudan congregation, and a dedicated contact line was provided for interested worshippers.
“God will do the impossible and silence every voice of doubt,” Natasha wrote as she invited followers to attend the launch service.

A Pattern of Expansion
The South Sudan launch aligns with Lucy Natasha’s long-standing vision of positioning ECC as a global ministry.
Over the years, she has frequently spoken about international expansion while maintaining a strong digital presence through televised sermons and online prayer sessions.
Even as physical services in Nairobi remain on hold, Natasha has continued to reassure followers that the ministry is growing and evolving, not shrinking.
In a separate post ahead of the launch, she expressed confidence about the future, describing February as a season of “increase, peace, and abundance” for the church.
Whether the Nairobi congregation will return to physical worship remains unclear, but for now, ECC’s focus appears firmly set on regional growth—this time beyond Kenya’s borders.
