East Africa’s highest scoring criminal markets are led by human trafficking, which recorded a score of 7.94 out of 10, indicating the most severe level of criminal activity in the region.

Arms trafficking and financial crimes followed closely, each scoring 7.89.

Human smuggling ranked fourth with a score of 7.67, highlighting persistent cross-border crime challenges.

Non-renewable resource crimes, including illegal exploitation of minerals and other resources, scored 6.28.

The scores are measured on a scale of 10, with higher values reflecting greater criminal intensity.
