A 36-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a robbery in Kamulu, Nairobi County.

The victim, identified as Geoffrey Gicheru, had left his home in the area on his way to work in the city centre, his wife said.

The exact circumstances of the incident remain unclear. Police indicated that Gicheru may have resisted the robbery, which allegedly led to the stabbing.

His wife was alerted on the morning of January 28 that her husband was lying on Josnah Road with stab wounds. She rushed to the scene and found him deceased, lying in a pool of blood. Cash and other valuables were reportedly missing.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations. Police are actively searching for those responsible for the robbery and killing.

A team of detectives visited the scene on Thursday as part of the ongoing probe. No arrests have been made so far. Police noted that such incidents often occur early in the morning and late in the evening, and they advise members of the public to prioritise their safety.

In response to rising robbery cases, police have increased patrols and operations in urban areas.

In Masii, Machakos County, a 38-year-old man, Duncan Nzioka of Kionyweni village, was found dead in his home following a suspected assault. Police reported bruises on the right side of his head and waist, and a swollen right eye.
