A recent Infotrak Poll released January 29 highlights the primary challenges Kenyans face during the transition to senior secondary education.
Financial concerns dominate the survey findings, with 39% of respondents citing the high cost of education—specifically school fees and uniforms—as a major hurdle.
Additionally, 13% reported a total lack of school fees.
Information gaps are also significant, as 19% noted inadequate guidance on the new system.
Meanwhile, 19% remained uncertain, responding "Don't Know."
Smaller concerns include student placement uncertainty at 4%, while inadequate facilities, materials, and psychological stress each registered at 2%.
These statistics underscore a predominantly economic-driven transition crisis.
