The Future of Jobs Report 2025 by the World Economic Forum forecasts significant job declines over the 2025-2030 period as technology and automation reshape the labour market.
The report shows that routine clerical and administrative roles are among the fastest shrinking occupations globally.
Jobs such as Postal Service Clerks, Bank Tellers and Related Clerks, and Data Entry Clerks are expected to see some of the steepest declines due to digitalisation and automation.
Other roles facing notable contraction include Cashiers and Ticket Clerks and Administrative Assistants and Executive Secretaries as organisations increasingly adopt digital systems and artificial intelligence as part of everyday operations.
The trend reflects broad digital access and advancements in AI and automation technologies, which are displacing traditional support and clerical positions even as they create new opportunities in technology and specialist fields.
