
Global results from the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) show that students in East Asia continue to dominate mathematics performance worldwide.
Singapore emerged as the top performer, recording an average score of 575, well above the OECD average.
Macau followed with 552, while Taiwan posted 547.
Hong Kong and Japan also ranked highly, with scores of 540 and 536 respectively, underscoring the region’s strong emphasis on mathematics education.
The PISA assessment measures the real-world mathematical reasoning of 15- to 16-year-olds.
