Content creator Chebet Ronoh has publicly commented on the nature of insults and criticism she frequently receives online, arguing that much of it has become repetitive and lacking originality.
In remarks shared on her social media platforms, Ronoh described common negative comments about her appearance as recycled and said they no longer have any impact on her.
She challenged critics to apply more effort and creativity when responding to her views, particularly when they disagree with her opinions.
Call for More Original Criticism
According to Ronoh, disagreements with her statements often lead to what she termed basic insults, especially those targeting her physical appearance. She said labels such as ''fat or ugly'' are routinely used and have lost their intended effect.
Ronoh argued that these remarks are not unique to her and are commonly directed at many women online. She suggested that critics rely on familiar tropes rather than forming original critiques related to her ideas or content.
To explain the level of inventiveness she expects, Ronoh gave an exaggerated example of a more elaborate insult, noting that such an approach at least demonstrates effort.
She stated that she prefers criticism that shows intelligence rather than repeated comments that she considers predictable.

Indifference to Public Approval
Ronoh also addressed her personal stance on public opinion, saying that she does not seek validation or acceptance from online audiences. “I don't care about people's opinions or them liking me,” she declared,

Ronoh added that because her self-esteem is not tied to external opinions, common insults do not affect her. She suggested that only comments that move beyond standard remarks might elicit a reaction.

Views on Attractiveness and Social Expectations
In discussing the motivations of her critics, Ronoh questioned the importance of being considered attractive by those who attack her online.
She stated that she is not afraid of being perceived as unattractive and does not fear social exclusion. According to Ronoh, she is comfortable standing apart from group approval and values independence.
