President William Ruto on Friday undertook a packed development tour of Mogotio in Baringo County, launching projects in housing, education, sports and trade.
The Head of State laid the foundation stone for the 528-unit Mogotio Affordable Housing Project and commissioned the Mogotio Modern Market, part of a wider push to modernise urban centres and spur enterprise.
He also opened a tuition block at Mogotio Township Mixed Day Senior School, inspected the Mogotio Sports Academy and officially opened Mogotio Township Secondary School.
President William Ruto with Mogotio MP Reuben Kiborek, Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi, Gender Cabinet Secretary Hanna Cheptumo and other leaders in Mogotio town on January 9, 2026/PCS Ruto said the housing programme, valued at Sh15 billion in Baringo, would deliver 5,000 affordable units, 10 modern markets and hostels for up to 4,000 students.
He noted that the initiative will not only transform the county’s urban infrastructure but also create opportunities for young people.
“These programmes will reshape the face of Baringo and create employment for our youth,” he said.
