
Venezuela holds the world’s largest share of proven crude oil reserves, accounting for 19.4 per cent of the global total as of January 4, 2026, according to data by Visual Capitalist.
It is followed by Saudi Arabia with 17.1 per cent and Iran at 13.3 per cent.
Canada ranks fourth with 10.9 per cent, while Iraq accounts for 9.3 per cent.
The United Arab Emirates and Kuwait hold 7.2 per cent and 6.5 per cent respectively.
Russia’s share stands at 5.1 per cent, Libya at 3.1 per cent, while the United States accounts for 2.9 per cent of global reserves.
