Inflows stood at $3.09 billion in 2020 before increasing to $3.52 billion in 2021.
The upward trend persisted in 2022, with remittances reaching $4.03 billion, and grew further to $4.19 billion in 2023.
In 2024, inflows climbed to $4.95 billion, reflecting sustained support from Kenyans living abroad.
The Central Bank of Kenya projects diaspora remittances will cross the $5 billion mark in 2025, reaching about $5.11 billion.
The growth highlights the increasing contribution of the diaspora to Kenya’s economy.
