Perceived causes of high cost of living in Kenya

According to a December 2025 Infotrak poll, Kenyans perceive corruption as the leading cause of the high cost of living, cited by 31% of respondents.

Taxes follow closely at 26%, while government policies are noted by 16%.

Global economic factors, such as fuel prices, account for 13%.

Poor agricultural productivity and a lack of employment opportunities are seen as lesser contributors, at 8% and 5% respectively.
